Possible meteorite crashes through roof of home in Titusville

by Mary Galioto

The Hopewell Township Police Department (HTPD) has reported that at approximately 1:14pm today, a resident on Old Washington Crossing Pennington Road in Titusville, called HTPD to report that an object had crashed through the roof of his family home, causing minor damage to the roof, ceiling, and floor. HTPD is working with several agencies to confirm that it is a meteorite, possibly from the Eta Aquariids meteor shower. The object appears to be metallic and is approximately 4” x 6” in size.
