Community input sought for future of Hopewell Twp quarry park

by Community Contributor

The Mercer County Park Commission announces the third virtual public meeting for the Moores Station Quarry Park Master Plan on Tuesday, May 18, from 6 to 8pm. At the third meeting, the consultant team will present a draft plan based on public input from over 675 survey responses and interviews with a variety of stakeholders and agencies.

Following the meeting, the draft plan will be available for a 60 day public review.

The quarry site is located adjacent to the County-managed Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain. Most of the quarry is without vegetation, and the excavation has revealed millions of years of geologic history. The quarry pit measures more than 2,000 feet across and is approximately 200 feet deep. For related MercerMe coverage, please visit this link.
