HomeFront holiday cards showcase art of local homeless mothers

by Community Contributor

Holiday greeting cards featuring the heartwarming art of HomeFront’s ArtSpace artists are now available for purchase through HomeFront. Proceeds from the sale of these cards funds programs for the families living in HomeFront’s Family Preservation Center in Ewing.

You can feel good twice – sending greetings to family, friends, colleagues and clients – and supporting a good cause! Each card, which shows the work of an individual artist, is produced on high quality card stock.

Homeless mothers from the local area have created these holiday card designs under the supervision of Ruthann Traylor, director of HomeFront’s Artspace and SewingSpace. Both programs build self-esteem through art and creativity. By publishing and marketing the artists’ work as cards, HomeFront is helping to create entrepreneurs though the arts.

“The unique perspective and history of the artists shines through in their work,” says Traylor. “In the end, the women who created these cards can’t believe their work is part of a product that can be sold,” she adds. “It helps them build the self-esteem they need to move forward.”

They can be purchased online at https://www.homefrontnj.org/donate-artspacecards/ and through local craft shows, churches, small businesses, libraries, and civic groups.

Each box contains eight cards – two of each of the designs shown below. A single box is available for a donation of $15. If two or more boxes are ordered, the requested donation is $12.50/box. Shipping and handling costs are based on the number of boxes for each type of card: $3.00 for 1 box, $4.00 for 2 boxes, $5.75 for 3 boxes, and $6.00 for 4-6 boxes
