The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the East Windsor Township Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday.

East Windsor police responded to a residence on Mozart Court just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, after receiving a 911 call. Upon arrival, police found the victim, identified as 73-year-old Safia Diwan, lying deceased in a front office. Preliminary assessment of injury suggests she was bludgeoned. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

There was no forced entry to the residence and authorities are attempting to locate a missing/distraught family member who may have information in connection with the incident.

The missing female is Tasneem Diwan, age 45, of Mozart Court in East Windsor, and is believed to be operating a green 2000 Nissan Quest minivan with New Jersey registration JYY16P. Anyone who sees Diwan is asked to contact police and should not attempt to approach her.
