Hopewell Quarry Announces Lindsey Young-Lockett as new executive director

by Community Contributor

The Friends of Hopewell Quarry Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Young-Lockett to the new role of Executive Director effective January 1, 2023. In 2022 Lindsey was hired as the Quarry’s first full-time Operations Manager and, under her leadership, she was instrumental in managing the Quarry’s operations, developing programs, and creating new community partnerships.

Young-Lockett commented: “Over the past summer, I have met so many nice people who have shared with me how much the Quarry means to them, so I am honored to accept this new role and steward the Quarry into a new era.”

For the past twenty years Lindsey’s experience has been within the art world – working with artists and managing special projects and exhibitions. This skill set was also put to good use this summer as she guided young artists to create murals on Quarry buildings and organized a creative team of wellness practitioners for a week of special programing with paddleboard yoga, meditation, nature walks, traditional yoga and a sound-bath streaming from the high diving board.

“We, as a Board, felt we had hit the jackpot by hiring Lindsey, as she has proven to be very talented in all her initiatives, and we are so grateful she has accepted her new position. She brings experience, enthusiasm, great communication skills and a fresh air to our organization. We feel very lucky to have found her and look forward to a successful and invigorating 2023 season with her at the helm.”
