Hopewell Township Police Blotter: Week of September 9, 2016

The following is the weekly police blotter from the Hopewell Township Police Department:

Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia: On 8-27-16 at 10:11 pm, Officer George Peterson stopped a Hyundai for speeding on Rt 546 near Scotch Rd [67/45].  While speaking with the driver who was identified as James T. Ellis of Ashdale Rd, Morrisville, he was found in possession of a glass pipe with suspected marijuana inside of it. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after being charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle and Having Inoperable Brake Lamps.

DWI: On 9-2-16 at 9:00 pm, Officer Christopher Vaccarino stopped a 2007 Honda for weaving in traffic on Rt 546.  While speaking with the driver who was identified as Phillip A. Rusher of Highland Park he smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath and person. After roadside sobriety testing he was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to police headquarter where he was processed and released. His case will be heard in municipal court.

Possession of a Weapon and Assault: On 9-3-2016 at 12:31 AM, officers were dispatched to Patriots Crossing Bar on Rt 29 for a reported fight between two males and one had a knife. Officer James Klesney conducted an investigation and arrested Mark A. Commiso of Hamilton for assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail. The victim was not injured during the assault. The case will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
