The following is a message from the Hopewell Township Deer Management Advisory Committee:

In the best of all possible worlds the Hopewell Township Deer Management Advisory Committee, a multi-disciplinary volunteer group of Hopewell Valley residents including hunters, farmers, gardeners, friends of deer, ecologists, and public health and law enforcement professionals would have preferred to mail a questionnaire to every resident and business in Pennington Borough, Hopewell Borough, and Hopewell Township. Being environmentally sensible, not to mention fiscally responsible we have developed the questionnaire electronically.

Between January 8 and February 15, 2016, Hopewell Valley residents are asked to go to the Hopewell Township website for completing the “Deer Survey Questionnaire” located here: http://hopewell-deer-mgt.questionpro.com

Hopewell Valley home and businesses owners are asked to fill out the survey electronically, and submit. The current questionnaire is a repeat of one that was completed in 2010 and we would like to see what, if any, impacts our hunting program has had. Deer populations are continuing to increase in Hopewell Valley and the Advisory Committee needs to have the community’s input on what, if anything, should be done about it. .

The Advisory Committee has already conducted several deer counts that estimate deer are continuing to be at higher levels than are good for the environment.

Now is the time to speak up. Are you happy with deer? Do you have problems with deer? Do you have questions about deer? Do you have suggestions about better deer management? The Hopewell Valley Deer Management Advisory Committee would like to know.
