by Community Contributor

Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 7pm

Hopewell Valley Central High School is pleased to present The Diary of Anne Frank, a play based on the writings of a young Jewish girl in hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. This poignant story is presented by a talented cast and crew led by Director Katie Rochon Bartolacci and Technical Director, Jeffrey Kelly.

During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Anne Frank began to keep a diary on June 14, 1942, just two days after her 13th birthday. Twenty-two days later, she would go into hiding with her parents, sister, and three others. Hidden in the sealed-off upper rooms of the annex of her father’s office building in Amsterdam, Anne, and the others struggle to cope with day-to-day life in cramped quarters.

This transcendent, powerful new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, brings Anne’s story to life. The lyrical, intensely gifted young writer confronts her circumstances with honesty, wit, and determination.

All performances will be live on stage in the Performing Arts Center at Hopewell Valley Central High School, 259 Pennington-Titusville Road, Pennington, and Tickets are $15 for the general public / $10 for students and seniors and can be purchased at www.showtix4u.com by searching for Hopewell.
