One of the Hopewell Valley’s favorite ice cream spots, Melba Ice Creamery in Lawrenceville, reopened this weekend for the season.
This year’s class of new scoopers—led by their fearless leader Joanne Canady-Brown—are ready to usher you into a season of fresh, inventive flavors. Put Ben & Jerry’s aside for a moment and indulge in Melba’s innovative offerings.
Making its debut is the curiously imagined Miso Butterscotch Stracciatella, described as “savory miso meets delicious butterscotch studded with tiny flecks of 64% bittersweet chocolate.” There’s also the seasonally welcoming Cherry Blossom, a sublime cherry ice cream swirled with bordeaux cherries.
One of Joanne’s more daring creations is the new sorbet, Mango Sticky Rice—a surprisingly authentic spin on the beloved dessert, with texture and flavor that do serious justice to the original.
Of course, longtime favorites are back too: sundaes, banana splits, root beer floats, take-home pints, egg creams, mix-ins, and more. The whole gang is back.
