Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes issued the following statement condemning President Trump for sharing videos on Twitter Wednesday morning, November 29, 2017, that supposedly portray Muslims committing acts of violence.
“Mercer County is home to an extraordinarily diverse population and that diversity is among the many reasons our community is vibrant and healthy. As a leader of this community, I am deeply disturbed by the divisive and anti-Muslim expressions disseminated today by President Trump.
“I urge the political leadership in Washington to swiftly denounce this hateful rhetoric and send a message to Americans of all races and faiths that we will not tolerate racism in any form by anyone, including the leader of this great nation. Hate has no home in these United States.”
