At 2:45 PM, the Hopewell Township Police Department, along with Hopewell Valley Emergency Services were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on County Route 546 at the intersection of Dublin Road. Officers arrived and found that a Mercury Sable and a Honda Civic had collided.
The Mercury Sable was driven by a 19 year old Hopewell Township, NJ woman. The woman was transported to an area hospital by the Pennington First Aid Squad for an arm injury. An 18 year old female passenger was transported to an area hospital for a head injury by members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.
The Honda Civic was driven by a 62 year old Hamilton Township, NJ man. The man was removed from his vehicle and transported to an area hospital by members of the Pennington First Aid Squad for head and neck injuries.
None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening at this time.
Investigation into the crash revealed that the man was traveling along Dublin Road southbound when he disregarded a stop sign and struck the Mercury which was traveling westbound along Route 546.
County Route 546 was closed for approximately 45 minutes. Traffic was detoured around the crash scene.
Assisting on scene were members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, the Pennington Fire Company, the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad and the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company.
The crash is being investigated by Officer James Hoffman.
