Retro Fitness Closes its Doors in Lawrenceville

by Angela Jacobs

Without warning to staff or patrons, Retro Fitness of Lawrenceville, located in the Lawrence Shopping Center, closed its doors on August 27th. An eviction notice was taped to the front doors on September 8th. It is unclear why the sudden closure occurred and repeated efforts to obtain a statement from the owner were unsuccessful.retro fitness logo

“Retro Fitness has over 150 franchised locations throughout the United States. We were surprised and upset to learn that the franchise location in Lawrenceville, NJ closed its doors suddenly, with no notice to us or its members. We have been working tirelessly to locate a franchisee to reopen the location as soon as possible. In the meantime, the members of that location are encouraged to visit another Retro Fitness nearby,” said Jayne Levy, PR consultant for the Retro Fitness corporation.

For members unable, or unwilling, to drive to other locations, ABC Financial is processing account cancellations. They can be reached at 888-827-9262.
