To the Editor:
My family is grateful to the Pennington Quality Market (PQM) which has fed our family for more than 75 years. Thank you to the Rothwell family who have owned and operated PQM since 1981 and the McVeigh family who was the initial owner and operated PQM from 1945 until 1981. The fact that PQM has been locally owned by just two families, for more than 80 years is extraordinary and quite special.
PQM has fed much of Hopewell Valley and beyond for these eight decades. But it has done more than that, it’s part of the fabric of our community. PQM is the place where you meet and visit with your friends and neighbors as you push your cart down the pristine clean aisles.
PQM has been a caring and generous member of our Hopewell Valley community. They employed hundreds of young people, giving them their first job experience. They have been generous to their customers and the community they serve. PQM has sponsored Little League and other sports teams over the decades, supported school events, churches, and many other community events & endeavors.
Thank you for 80 years of service to our community. You will be missed.
