Youth Police Academy Applications for Hopewell Valley Residents Now Available

The Hopewell Township Police Department will be holding its Youth Police Academy Monday July 18, 2016 through Friday July 22, 2016, 9am-3pm. The Academy is open to any Hopewell Valley resident presently completing the 7th or 8th grade this year. Graduation will be held at 6pm on Friday July 22 at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building.

The classroom curriculum will include such topics as: criminal law, arrest search and seizure, criminal investigation, traffic stops/motor vehicle law, physical fitness training, the court system, juvenile law, crime prevention, evidence collection, and patrol practices. There will be demonstrations on the use of police equipment, radar and drug identification.

The application for the Youth Police Academy is below and are also available for pick up at the Timberlane Middle School Main Office, the Hopewell Township Police Department or on the Hopewell Township website home page which can be found at www.hopewelltwp.org.

All applications must be complete and returned to the Hopewell Township Police Department no later than 12pm on June 15, 2016. The class will be limited to twenty (20) students.
