House fire in Pennington

Pennington Fire Company is reporting that all Township fire companies and mutual aid are currently operating on a heavily involved dwelling fire on the corner of Eglantine and E. Franklin in Pennington Borough. They ask everyone to please avoid the area. The cause is unknown at this time.

Update 3/9 at 9pm: Fire has been placed under control.

Update 3/10 at 8:47am: Per Pennington Fire Chief via emergency radio, a two-alarm fire destroyed a home on East Franklin Avenue last evening. All Hopewell Valley Fire Departments along with neighboring companies responded and placed the fire under control at 9pm. No cause of the blaze has been released at this time.

Update 3/10 at 10:20am: Pennington Police Chief Doug Pinelli confirmed that no residents were home at the time of the fire. There were three dogs – two of them were rescued prior to the fire department’s arrival. The third, unfortunately, was deceased when the fire company located it. The cause of the fire is being actively investigated. -AR
