Motorists who use the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge to cross into New Jersey will face weekday daytime detours beginning Monday, Sept. 15.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced that the bridge will be closed to NJ-bound traffic from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays through Sept. 26 while contractors install a temporary under-bridge platform to inspect and potentially repair electrical-supply components.

During the closure, the bridge’s access lane from the Pennsylvania side will be barricaded at the intersection of Main Street (Route 32) and East Bridge Street (Route 179) in downtown New Hope. Signage will direct motorists north along Main Street to the nearby New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge for entry into New Jersey.
The bridge will remain open to Pennsylvania-bound traffic at all times, with vehicles shifted to the downstream lane during detours to create a safe work zone. The pedestrian walkway will remain open, and two-way vehicular traffic will resume during nights and weekends.
The Commission urges commuters to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel during the two-week detour period.
