Central New Jersey Let Me Run 5K Kicks Off at Hopewell Elementary (PHOTOS)

On Saturday, June 3, Central New Jersey “Let Me Run” teams hosted the region’s first SpringFest 5K. Nearly 200 runners, from local elementary schools, registered for this 5K which kicked off at Hopewell Elementary School in Hopewell Borough.

The winner was one of Hopewell Valley’s Let Me Run members, Garrett Wille, a 10 year old from Hopewell Elementary, with a time 20:56. Fifteen year old twins, Gavin and Sam Fowler, freshmen at Hopewell Valley Central High School and graduates from Hopewell Elementary School, were 2nd and 3rd respectively. Let Me Run a running program for boys lead by trained coaches who combine exercise with fun activities and lessons to help boys learn teamwork, build relationship skills, create friendships, grow emotionally, amplify their self-esteem, empower themselves and others, and live an active lifestyle.
