Each year, the Hopewell Valley Central High School(CHS) junior and senior classes raise money to defray costs of their proms. This year, a fundraising committee for the Class of 2024 made sure they were helping others as well.
The committee raised funds for the class by holding a memorable evening of designer handbag bingo on October 14, 2022 at the community room at CHS. The bingo committee, chaired by parents Roxanne Clarke, Michele Garzio, and Jennifer Mahan, sought not only to raise funds for the Junior Prom and Post Prom for the class of 2024, they also were on a mission to give back to our community.
Mahan explained, “It was important for us to give back to the community and HV Mobile Food Pantry is an extremely deserving group that came to our mind immediately.”
The evening was a huge success, with almost 200 people attending the evening. The MC, Graig Corveleyn, kept the crowd entertained and, with the support from generous ticket purchases, the Class of 2024 Bingo Committee was happy to present the HV Mobile Food Pantry with a check for $500.
