Communities of Light Event at Trenton Social Tonight Benefiting Womanspace

by Mary Galioto

During the winter solstice in December, Communities of Light™ (COL) candles line the streets of central New Jersey – a powerful symbol of hope for women and children impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. Communities of Light raises awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault and the services available to help victims in Mercer County. The candles come from luminary kits which help spread our important message that Peace Begins at Home.

Hundreds of people, scores of organizations and community groups, and the municipalities within Mercer County will light thousands of their candles.

At dusk this evening, December 7th, Trenton Social will participate in Communities of Light. The luminary lights will be lit at 4:30pm at the entrance on S. Broad St. and the entrance from the parking lot to the side entrance. From 5pm to 8pm, 10% of all sales from food and drink will be donated to Womanspace.

Womanspace hopes that families who struggle with violence in their homes will see that their community stands with them and learn that help is available.

Please stop by Trenton Social tonight and lend your support.
