Governor says schools will stay closed

by Community Contributor

In a statement yesterday, Governor Murphy announced that schools in the State will remain closed until “at least” Friday, May 15.

“We need to be guided by where the facts on the ground, science, and public health take us. That means it will not be safe to reopen our schools for at least another four weeks,” he said.

“I’ve made this decision in careful consultation with New Jersey Department of Health and New Jersey Department Of Education, among other key stakeholders,” he continued. “I know this is hard. But we are saving lives and we must maintain the course.”
