Elder Care Fair, Friday, May 10th from 11am to 1pm at the Hopewell Township Building, 201 Washington Crossing Pennington Road, Titusville. Hopewell Valley Senior Service first ever Elder Care Fair. Join us as agencies in the fields of in home care, long term care facilities, adult living communities, assisted living housing, geriatric care managers, elder care attorneys and more! We have over 20 businesses in attendance, come gather some valuable information from local professionals in the business and bring your questions! Lunch will be provided by Brandywine Senior Living at Pennington.

Capital Health Mobile Stroke Unit, Wednesday, May 15, 10am, Hopewell Valley Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, Pennington. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the US. For anyone who’s having a stroke, every minute matters and decreasing time to diagnosis and treatment is critical for a person’s outcome. The MSU serves Mercer County, seven days a week and is designed to bring time-critical stroke care to patients. Join us as Capital Health Systems Mobile Stroke Unit visits the Hopewell Valley Senior Center, take a tour of the unit and take home some valuable information.

The Aging Eye,Thursday, May 16, 6pm, Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell NJ PURE Conference Center, One Capital Way, Pennington, NJ 08534. Join JOAN MICUCCI, from Matossian Eye Associates, presents a comprehensive overview of the many conditions that can affect a person’s vision throughout the natural aging process, specifically cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. Pennington Day, Saturday, May 18, 10am-4pm, Downtown Pennington Borough along Main Street and Curlis Ave. Pennington Day is a street fair with local businesses, artisans, and non-profits whose hope is to celebrate and strengthen the community and spread joy amongst all who attend! This is a rain or shine event!

Healthy Living for Your Brain & Body: Tips for Optimizing Physical & Cognitive Health, Wednesday, May 22, 10am, HV Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, Pennington. This workshop will cover: Research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement. Hands-on tools to incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging-at any age! This workshop is presented by Alzheimer’s Association. 55 Plus Breakfast Series, Friday, May 31, 8:30am-10:30am, Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell NJ PURE Conference Center, One Capital Way, Pennington, NJ 08534Join Dr. Vernard Fennell, a fellowship trained cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon at Capital Institute for Neurosciences’ Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, WILL SHARE THE LATEST IN STROKE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT. Also, Dr. Fennell will review what you can do to lower your stroke risk, what to do if you or a loved one show the signs of stroke, and the latest treatments.   • Tuesday, April 21, 10am – 12/noon, Blood Pressure. Lower Level, Hopewell Township Municipal Building. Bring your own machine and we can make sure it is working properly.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 11am, Healthy Bones: Ongoing classes to build bone strength and prevent osteoporosis. Court Room, Hopewell Township Municipal Building. Space is limited. Call 537-0236 to sign up and confirm enrollment in the class.
