Hopewell Township Police Use Narcan Successfully, Another Life Saved

by Mary Galioto

At 4:21 p.m. on July 21, 2015, Officer Michael Peterson responded to the lower park area of Washington Crossing State Park on the report of a man having a seizure.

Officer Peterson arrived on scene and found an unresponsive 23 year old man (from Lawrence Township) seated in a pick-up truck. After speaking to a 26 year old Titusville female, who was with the man and had called 9-1-1, it was apparent to Officer Peterson that the man was suffering from a drug overdose. Officer Peterson then administered a dose of Narcan to the man and performed rescue breathing with a bag valve mask. After approximately two minutes the man was revived. The driver was then transported to an area hospital by Hopewell Valley Emergency Services personnel where he was treated and later released.
