Howell Farm Hosting Ice Cream Party

Howell Living History Farm invites the public to enjoy an old fashioned “ice cream party” on Saturday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Featured activities include music, wagon rides, games, contests, a children’s craft program and lots of ice cream making and eating.

Ice cream making will begin at 11 a.m. when visitors are invited to help draw and grind ice from the Farm’s icehouse. The first batch of homemade ice cream will be ready for dipping at noon. Ice cream sundaes and floats will be served until 3:30 p.m. Parking and admission are free

A children’s craft program, “Painted Racing Boat,” will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with weather conditions permitting. Races on the farm pond will be held at 12:30 and 3 p.m., with prizes awarded to the builders of the fastest boats. This craft program costs $4. Groups of 8 or more wanting to participate must pre-register.

Howell Farm is owned by the County of Mercer and maintained by the Mercer County Park Commission.  It is located on Valley Road, just off Route 29, in Hopewell Township.  The GPS address is 70 Woodens Lane, Hopewell Township, NJ 08530.  Facility hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
