HVRSD: District Reports Bomb Threat at CHS

by Ryan Kennedy

hvrsd featureLate this afternoon, a student found a nonspecific bomb threat written on a wall in a boys’ bathroom at Central High School, according to Hopewell Valley Regional School District Superintendent Tom Smith.

The Hopewell Township police was notified immediately and they are investigating the situation. Due to the nonspecific nature of the threat, HVRSD does not believe the threat to be credible. However, as a precautionary measure, the school is being searched using canines and secured. During the search, all students participating in after-school activities at Central High School were prohibited from entering the building.

HVRSD will continue this investigation and, hopefully, find the individual(s) responsible for writing this threat. They will also work with teachers, guidance counselors, and staff to remind students about the seriousness of this action.

“Above all else, the safety and security of students and staff continues to be our primary focus,” said Superintendent Smith.
