The Lawrence Hopewell Trail and Mercer County Park Commission will invite cyclists and walkers to experience the trail under the September night sky during the annual Full Moon Ride and new Full Moon Walk on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Rosedale Park.
Check-in begins at 7 p.m., with the ride and walk starting at 7:30 p.m.
Cyclists can take on a scenic 6-mile loop through the park, while walkers can participate in a 1-mile route along the Stony Brook. The walk is open to all ages, while cyclists must be 12 or older.
The evening will feature trail lighting through the park’s woods and meadows, a live DJ, a post-event campfire with complimentary s’mores and food from Nosh Empanadas and Thai Cha Chak Food Truck.
The event will take place in the Rosedale Lake section of Mercer Meadows, with access from Federal City Road in Pennington. A rain date for the ride and walk is Sunday, Sept. 27.
Advance tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for youth. Day-of registration is $35 for adults and $30 for youth. Advance registration is encouraged.
Cyclists are required to have front and rear bike lights and wear helmets. Organizers recommend hybrid, mountain or wide-tire bicycles for portions of the route that travel over stone-dust trails.
Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation and its work to complete the remaining segments of the 20-mile multiuse trail loop in Mercer County.
