LTE: Vote and support for Ruger and Kuchinski

To the Editor:

This might be the most important election any of us have ever voted in. Please vote early (and no, not often, regardless of what Donald Trump says) to make sure your vote is counted.

Locally, we have a terrifically experienced Democratic combo, Kevin Kuchinski and Michael Ruger, running for two Hopewell Township Committee seats. Kevin’s been serving Hopewell Township residents on the Township Committee for six years, three years as Mayor. He is a business professional who has employed his knowledge of budgets to work to keep our taxes as low as possible, and is deeply involved in all aspects of running the Hopewell Township government.

Michael’s legal expertise is proving valuable as we continue to navigate our way through the legal requirements of the state Supreme Court’s mandate to provide affordable housing. Ruger, has been Deputy Mayor for two years and on the Committee for three years.

What we know now after four years of Donald Trump is that his incompetence and ignorance is literally killing us. He knew how deadly the virus was in February and refused to alert the American people, he is dismantling our environmental laws, favoring the major corporations and the very wealthy in his decision making, taking away food stamps from those most in need, insulting our military in words that are beyond what any rational person would ever say, and cares only for himself. Four years have also taught us that the vast majority of elected Republican officials at all levels have been silent throughout this or actively supported Trump. Therefore, don’t vote for any Republican – they will be backing Trump.

In Hopewell Township, no Republican is running for office. But vote for Democrats Kevin and Michael anyway to show support for all they have done in the past and will continue to do for us in the future.

Yours truly,

Billie Moore,
Hopewell Township
