Memorial Day celebrations abound in Hopewell Valley

The Hopewell Valley Veterans Association held their annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Hopewell Township’s Woolsey Park on Saturday, May 28, 2002:

Hopewell Borough marked the day with a memorial ceremony…

  • Doug Cromwell, Bugler for Hopewell American Legion Post 339, sounds Taps near the grave of John Hart, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, in Hopewell, New Jersey on Sunday.

followed by a parade on Sunday….

… and Pennington’s parade was held on Monday.

Titusville had its own celebration as Daisies, Cub Scouts and members of the American Legion met at the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Titusville Presbyterian Church cemeteries on Saturday. After the American Legion ceremony, the Daisy’s and Cub Scouts placed flags on the graves of the Veterans. (Contributed by Barbara Matlack):
