Mercer County officials are reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote in New Jersey’s 2025 primary election is Tuesday, May 20.
The primary election will be held on Tuesday, June 10. To participate, voters must be registered with a political party. Unaffiliated voters may declare their party affiliation at the polls on Election Day.

Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello announced key dates and voting options in preparation for the election. Voters have several ways to cast their ballots, including in-person on Election Day, during early voting, or by mail.
Key Deadlines and Voting Options:
- Voter Registration Deadline: Tuesday, May 20, by 8 p.m.
- Deadline to Apply for Vote-by-Mail Ballot by Mail: Tuesday, June 3
- Deadline to Apply for Vote-by-Mail Ballot In-Person: Monday, June 9, by 3 p.m.
- Early Voting Period: Tuesday, June 3, through Sunday, June 8
- Monday–Saturday: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
- Election Day Poll Hours: Tuesday, June 10, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the county Board of Elections by June 16, or returned to an official drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Drop box locations across Mercer County will be listed on the County Clerk’s website.
Early voting is available at seven locations throughout the county. Any registered Mercer County voter can vote at any early voting site.
Residents can register to vote, apply for a vote-by-mail ballot, and find early voting or drop box locations online at nj.gov/state/elections.
