Newport presents “Ten Things You Should Know About Religion in the US Today”

Gallup senior scientist, Dr. Frank Newport, will speak about “Ten Things You Should Know About Religion in the U.S. Today” at 1pm, Friday, April 22. The program, open to adults of all ages, is sponsored by the Older Adult Ministry Team of the Pennington Presbyterian Church. The presentation will be live at the church and also be joined virtually.

Newport, a local resident, is one of America’s leading public opinion experts, a social scientist, and an outspoken advocate for the value of the collective wisdom of the people. He was Gallup editor-in-chief from 1990-2018 and served as the 2010-2011 president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research, the nation’s largest and oldest professional association for survey researchers and pollsters. Newport is the author of “God Is Alive and Well: The Future of Religion in America” (2012). He was founder and co-host of “Objective Religion,” a podcast focused on religion and society, during the 2020 election year.
