Police Blotter: Multiple thefts in Township reported in a week, and more

The following is information provided by the Hopewell Township Police Department:

Theft throughout Hopewell Valley

Officer Blake Demeter was detailed to a Denow Road address for a theft complaint on September 22. The complainant reported that an Amazon package was delivered to their address on September 19. The package was never located and the investigation confirmed delivery. The value of the stolen property was approximately $50. The investigation is ongoing.

Officer James Klesney was detailed to a Denow Road address for a reported burglary/theft. The complainant reported that sometime on September 27, an unknown individual(s) entered their residence and stole multiple tools and additional household items. The value of the items removed was unknown at the time of the initial reporting. Investigation is ongoing.

Officer Paul Alvaro was detailed to a Lambertville Hopewell Road address for a reported theft from a residence. The complainant reported that sometime between September 21 and September 27, an unknown individual(s) entered their bedroom and removed approximately $100 cash from a lock box. Investigation is ongoing.

Officer Alvaro was detailed to a Pennington Titusville Rd. address for a reported theft complaint on September 29. The complainant reported that sometime between August 31 and September 27, an unknown individual(s) stole sporting equipment from the field adjacent to their property. The value of the stolen items was approximately $1,300. Investigation is ongoing.

Juvenile arrested for disorderly conduct

Officer Paul Alvaro and additional patrol units responded to a disturbance call on River Drive on September 19. While investigating the incident, a 14-year old juvenile obstructed their investigation and assaulted the officers on scene. The juvenile was taken into custody and later charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest. The matter will be heard in Family Court.

Harassment complaint on River Drive  

Officer Neil Hunt was detailed to a River Drive address for a harassment complaint. The complainant reported they were confronted by a known individual on September 29 who directed a threatening statement towards them. Investigation is ongoing.

Identity theft in Village Square

Officer Steven Ciosek was detailed to a Village Square address for a report of identity theft on September 28. The complainant reported that an unknown individual used their personal information to open a credit card account. The complainant was alerted to the activity when they were contacted by the credit agency advising who advised them of an outstanding balance. Investigation is ongoing.

Two instances of criminal mischief, one still under investigation

Officer Christopher Collins was detailed to a River Drive address for a report of criminal mischief on September 28. The complainant reported that known actor, a 16-year old juvenile, damaged personal property belonging to them. The juvenile was later charged with criminal mischief. The matter will be heard in Family Court.

Officer Alvaro was detailed to a Pennington Titusville Road address for a reported criminal mischief complaint.  The complainant reported on September 25, individuals accessed their property and damaged miscellaneous equipment. Investigation is ongoing.
