Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Lawrence Shopping Center Carjacker

On April 11, at 3:30pm, the Lawrence Township Police received a report of a Carjacking/Robbery that had just occurred in the Acme parking lot located within the Lawrence Shopping Center at 2495 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ.

Responding officers arrived and spoke to the 78 year old victim who had sustained injuries during the attack.  The victim related that immediately after loading some groceries into her 2013 silver Kia Rio she was approached by the above listed suspect after she was seated in her vehicle. Immediately upon being seated, the suspect leaned in and demanded her keys. Upon refusing to give the suspect her keys the suspect grabbed her by both wrists and threw her from the vehicle causing minor injuries to both of her hands, wrists and knee.

The suspect then entered her vehicle and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Responding officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation by Officer Marc Caponi and Det. Robert Potter is continuing.

Surveillance video was obtained during the investigation; still photos of the suspect are attached with this press release.

He is described as: Black Male 6’0”-6’1” Large build, approximately 250lbs in his middle age. Last seen wearing dark pants and a dark sweat shirt.
