Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello has announced that starting on Monday, June 1, the County Clerk’s public records room will be open on a limited basis. However, visitors to the record room must take precautions to help stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Because County offices are closed to the public, property searchers must make an appointment to enter the record room. Appointments may be made for between the hours of 10am and 12pm, Monday through Thursday. The Clerk’s office is located at 209 South Broad Street, Trenton.
To schedule an appointment, property searchers must call Michelle Plumeri at 609-989-6233. There will be a limited number of people allowed in the room at once. Additionally, everyone in the search room is asked to wear a mask and gloves at all times and maintain a distance of at least six feet from other searchers. Furthermore, anyone who has experienced cold or flulike symptoms in the two weeks before a scheduled appointment is asked not to come in.

The search room at the Mercer County Clerk’s Office maintains documents affecting real property since its incorporation as a county in 1838. It is open to any interested citizen, attorney, title searcher, or historian for their research or study.
Of course, residents may search online via njcountyrecording.com. However, due to the office closure, residents will need to sign up via an outside vendor if they do not have an account already. Both Simplifile and CSC are established vendors and can be reached via http://simplifile.com or firstname.lastname@example.org, respectively.
Already existing members can also access the NewVision Search System at http://records.mercercounty.org/RecordsNG_Search. For further information, please visit the website at http://www.mercercounty.org/government/county-clerk.
Finally, Mercer County residents can search for any property in the county by starting a free account at http://pip.mercercounty.org.
