Six veterans to share memories of military service

Six local veterans will share highlights of their military service in a Veterans Day program on Thursday, November 11. This salute to our veterans is sponsored by the Older Adult Ministry Committee of the Pennington Presbyterian Church. We will gather virtually at 12:45pm. The one and a half hour program will begin promptly at 1pm. To register and receive the zoom link, please contact the church office at 609-737-1221, x10. 

Sgt. Charles W. Rutledge

Bill Kianka, Captain, US Air Force, will discuss flying jet fighters. Marilyn Rutledge will recount experiences of her now deceased husband, Chuck Rutledge, Sergeant, US Marine Corps, at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. Bob Peeck, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army, will recall Army School in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Christopher Newport, Lieutenant, US Navy, will share his experiences in the submarine service. Barbara Rockel will describe the positive impact of military service on the life of her now deceased husband, Bill Rockel, Electronics Officer 3rd class, US Navy. Larry Mansier, private, US Army, will recall his time in an iron lung during the Korean War and the consistently supportive treatment he received thereafter in Army and VA Hospitals.
