The Hopewell Valley YMCA is pleased to announce the first Tom Jackson Champion Golf Tournament which will be held at the Hopewell Valley Golf and Country Club on Monday, October 17, 2016.

Thomas R. Jackson was a long time Pennington resident and dedicated sports enthusiast whose life journey paralleled the spirit and goals of the YMCA.  aitlin and Anne Jackson lost their beloved father and husband at the age of 61 in April 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom’s daily life always included a playing field of some sort, from the football fields and wrestling mats of his youth to jogging the streets of Pennington, to a variety of tracks, gyms, ski hills, and hiking trails to paddle, squash and tennis courts and many area golf courses throughout New Jersey.

Tom’s friends and family remember his dedication to an active and healthy life and as a gentle quiet man whose teamwork, determination, and competitive spirit were the  hallmarks of a champion.

Tom’s legacy and love of sports will continue in support of youth programs through the Hopewell Valley YMCA and fund scholarships for sports camps, leagues and other program focused on active and healthy lifestyles so every child has a chance to participate and develop the skills and desires to become a champion.

This fall’s Tom Jackson Champion Golf Tournament will be the YMCA’s fundraiser supporting these goals. Individuals and businesses to participate in this event and sponsor any part of this memorable day.

The outing is a scramble format and includes barbeque lunch, cocktail hour, and dinner includes several prize holes and contests. The entry fee for individual golfers is $175 (with a $25 discount for golfers who are under 30 years of age).  Register at or link to the registration site through

Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available.  Early sponsors already include Pennington Quality Market, Bank of Princeton, and Northfields Bank. Contact Doug Pszczolkowski at the YMCA 609-737-3048 or for more information.
