Two Showings of Screenagers, A Documentary About Parenting in a Digital World

The Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance is pleased to be partnering with the Hopewell Valley Regional School District in presenting 2 showings of SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time.

The timing of the film showings is particularly useful for those in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD). “This fall we will be rolling out chromebooks for students in 6th through 12th grade. Now is the time to consider the balance of screens between home and school usage,” said HVRSD board president, Lisa Wolff.

Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that happening with her own kids and began a quest to uncover how it might impact their development. As with her other two award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance.

The documentary film SCREENAGERS will be shown on Sunday, June 5 at 6:30 PM and Tuesday, June 7 at 9:00 AM at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Hopewell Valley Central High School. Tickets on sale now for SCREENAGERS!  Only 2 showings so don’t miss out!
