Hope Rises Up and Prism—Bending the Light are joining forces with Hopewell Valley Regional School District and Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance to host an educational and advocacy day focusing on LGBTQ+ community issues, especially those affecting students. The free event will take place at Hopewell Valley Central High School on Saturday, June 1, with doors opening at 9:30am and activities running from 10am to 2pm.
The event kicks off with an LGBTQ+ Student Panel Discussion featuring local high school and college students.
Then, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in two of the following breakout panel discussions, with a lunch break in between:
- Finding & Creating Affirming Faith Spaces
- LGBTQ+ Mental Health Resources
- Local Resources for LGBTQ+ Youth & Their Supporters
- Trans-Parent: Parents of Transgender & Nonbinary Children
- Rainbow Rooms: Educators Creating Safe, Welcoming & Affirming Classrooms
