Pennington Kicks Off Speaker Series with Recycling Webinar

by Community Contributor

On Thursday, February 27 at 7pm, the Pennington Environmental Commission will launch its Community Conversations Speaker Series with a webinar on Recycling – Beyond the Basics.

This exciting new series is inspired by community feedback from a recent survey, identifying topics that resonate with residents interested in building a green and sustainable future. The January session will focus on Mercer County’s updated recycling program, addressing common questions and providing practical guidance on managing items beyond regular curbside collections.

Speakers include Joann Held from the Hopewell Valley Green Team and Pennington Environmental Commission, and Michelle Patnick from Terracycle, a New Jersey-based company specializing in innovative recycling solutions.

Learn about:

  • Mercer County’s recycling guidelines, including the newly accepted #5 plastics.
  • Handling tricky items like Styrofoam, Christmas lights, and plastic lids.
  • Best practices for reusing and recycling household items.

This event is open to all, whether you live in Pennington, Hopewell Valley, or surrounding areas. The webinar will also feature a live Q&A session to address your recycling questions. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and become a Recycling Hero!
