Fire danger high – State imposes restrictions on fires

by Community Contributor

Due to very dry conditions and high winds, NJ is experiencing wildfires around the state. Fire danger is VERY HIGH today. NO agricultural burning is allowed, and campfire restrictions are in Stage 3, which mean:

  • All fires in wooded areas will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity.
  • No charcoal fires are allowed.

More information can be found on the NJ Forestry Fire Danger Page.

Editors note 4/13 – with no rain since the initial warning and none forecast until at least Saturday night, the restrictions remain in effect. Click the link above to check status.
