The Hopewell Valley Green Team is pleased to be a part of the Mercer Green Fest again this year. More than 75 ecofriendly businesses, organizations, and schools will be offering information and incentives to help you go green and save money at the Mercer Green Fest on Saturday March 17, 2018 from 11am–4pm in the Rider University Student Recreation Center, located on the main campus at 2083 Lawrenceville Rd in Lawrenceville, NJ.
The Hopewell Valley Green team knows that Hopewell Valley residents will be especially interested in the Electric Vehicle (EV) display, and there will be more than 20 EVs on hand. Look them over and imagine yourself driving your own EV sometime soon.
The Hopewell Valley Green Team will also be hosting an “Ask Your Neighbor” table. Stop by to talk to Green Team members about ways to reduce food waste, including proper food storage and the fresh egg test. Pick up your own “Eat This First” tag to help your family find the most perishable items in the refrigerator or fruit bowl.
Also this year, the Greater Mercer Transportation Planning Agency will be asking for ideas about where to put bike trail; local farmers will be selling winter vegetables, cheese, and honey; and there will be lots of activities for kids.
Interested in up-cycled art? Be sure to check out the creations of local artists who never throw anything away, and perhaps try your hand at your own piece of art. Hopewell Valley textile artist, Lauren Meyer, will be among the featured artists.
