Pennington Day committee seeks grant awardees

by Community Contributor

Each year, through money raised during Pennington Day, the Pennington Day Grants Committee makes grants to local organizations serving the Hopewell Valley Community. Last year the committee awarded grants to 11 individuals and organizations. Projects funded include support for the Pennington Public Library summer reading program, restoration efforts to the Pennington African American Cemetery, the purchase of fresh produce for the Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry, and support of the We Make Autism Work enrichment program for high school interns and high school graduates transitioning to the workplace.

Pennington Day makes grants to non-profits, civic organizations, schools and municipalities for specific projects that will serve Pennington and Hopewell Valley.  If you, or someone you know, is interested in applying for a grant, please visit ‘Grants’ at  www.penningtonday.org to fill-out and submit a grants application.

  • Grant applications are due April 28, 2003
  • All applications must be submitted via the application form found at Penningtonday.org.
  • Grants will not be made for religious or partisan political purposes.
  • Grant funds will be presented at a ceremony during Pennington Day.
